TRUE MEANING OF VALENTINE'S DAY (ENGLISH)

It's Valentine's Day today!!!!

As it is known, it's a day which lovers express their love each other. There are many ways to celebrate in all over the world!!

In Japan, women give chocolates to men.

Women give chocolates to a man who they want to express their love. On the other hand, it's also becoming an obligation for many women to give chocolates to all male co-workers. This is known as giri-choko, from the words giri ("obligation"), and choko ("chocolate").

To tell the truth, this culture has made up by chocolate company!!!!

Then, do you know the true meaning of the St Valentine's Day??

St Valentine's Day is named after early Christian martyr, Valentine.

During 200 A.D. the Roman Empelor Claudius II prohibited young men from marrying. He surpposedly did this to grow his army, believing that married men did not make for good soldiers.

Valentine defied him and was secretly encouraging young lovers to get married and performed marrige ceremonies.

Claudius II put him in the prison when he realized what Valentine had been doing.

Even in the prison, Valentine kept sharing about God's love to the people. During imprisonment, he fell in love with a jailor's blind daughter.

The jailor requested Valentine to heal her eyes. Through his faith, the daughter was miraculously restored. Seeing that, Her father and family believed in God's healing and became Christian. However, Claudius II wasn't happy and Valentine's got executed at the end..   

Just before his execution, he expressed his feelings for her in the most romantic manner by writing a love letter in which he had ended the note by writing, "From your Valentine"

Valentine ended up his life on the day, Febraury 14th.

I want you to remember something important.......Valentine who sacrificed his life to people to tell about God's love and expressed his feelings to the one he loved.... Let's remember him and celebrate love!!!

もうすぐバレンタインですね！！

みなさんも知っている通り、この日は恋人たちの愛の誓いの日とされ、世界各地でさまざまな形でお祝いされています！

日本では、バレンタインデーに女性が男性にチョコレートを渡すのが習慣となっていますよね。

始まりは、神戸モロゾフ洋菓子店が１９３６年２月１２日に、国内英字雑誌に『バレンタインチョコレート』の広告を出し、１９５８年２月に伊勢丹新宿店でメリーチョコレートカムパニーが『バレンタインセール』というキャンペーンがきっかけでした。

今では、チョコレートの年間消費量の４分の１がこの日に消費されるといわれるほどの国民行事になっています。毎年この時期になると、バレンタイン仕様の特別なチョコがたくさん出回ります。

女性は自分のアプローチしたい『本命』の男性にチョコをあげ、愛の告白をするのですが、同時に上司や同僚、ただの友人などの恋愛感情の伴わない相手にもチョコレートを贈る、『義理チョコ』という習慣も定着しています。

しかし！これはチョコレート会社のセールスのための戦略から始まった文化なんです！！

ではみなさんは、バレンタインデーの本当の由来を知っていますか？

バレンタインデーは、訳すと『聖バレンタインの日』。約３世紀に殉教したクリスチャン、聖バレンタイン（イタリア読みではバレンチノ）にちなんで定められました。

ローマ皇帝クラディウス２世は、若者がなかなか戦争に出たがらないので手を焼いていました。その理由を、彼らが愛する家族や恋人の元から離れたくないからだと確信したクラディウスは、若者たちに結婚を禁止しました。

バレンチノはかわいそうな兵士たちをみかねてこの禁令に背いて恋人たちの結婚式を執り行いました。

（彼は結婚したばかりのカップルに自分の庭から摘んできたばかりの花を贈っていた。）

それを知ったクラディウスは、バレンチノをキリスト教からローマの宗教に改宗させようとしましたが、バレンチノはそれを拒否しました。そのため捉えられ、ついには処刑されてしまったのです。

監獄にいたときもバレンチノは、恐れることなく神様の愛を伝え続けました。ある看守に目の見えない娘がいて、バレンチノと親しくなりました。

そしてあるときバレンチノが娘のために祈ると、目が見えるようになりました。この奇跡を信じた彼女の家族がクリスチャンになったことがきっかけで、バレンチノは皇帝によって処刑されてしまったのです。

処刑の前日に彼は娘あてに『あなたのバレンチノより』と署名した手紙を残しました。

バレンチノが命を落とした日、その日が２月１４日だったのです。

自分の命を犠牲にしてまで、神様の愛を伝え、実践したバレンチノ。。。今年のバレンタインは、そんな彼のことを思い出して、愛を示してみてくださいね！！

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

遅れましたが・・・あけましておめでとうございますーー！！！！
Happy be-lated new year!!!!!

あっという間に２００８年がやってきました。２００７年はみんなにとってどんな１年でしたか？
Time flies so quickly.....it's 2008 here now!! lol How was your year 2007??

私は、いままでにないチャレンジがあり、単純にHAPPYな１年だった♪とは言い切れないですが、神様が自分を鍛えてくれた時間だったと思います。何よりも、『常に神様に信頼する』ことを学んだ１年だったと思います。どんなときでも神様は自分と一緒にいてくれるという確信を強めてくれたことにも感謝です。
I can't just say "I was always happy through the year!!" for I've received the biggest challenges I've ever taken....but I realised that whatever it happens, God's never leave me and forsake me. I also have learnt to rely on God all the time.

また詳しくいろんな話を載せたいと思うので、今回はクリスマスと年末のフォトをシェアします☆

JEREMIE & ERI'S WEDDING

今日はオーストラリアレポお休みして、昨日（７月１４日）に行われた、ジェレミーとえりちゃんの結婚式についてのブログです☆
Today, I'll write about Jeremie and Eri's wedding held on 14th of Saturday.

ジェレミーとえりちゃんは、わがジーザスライフハウスチャーチに通っているインターナショナルカップル！ジェレミーはフランス人で、えりちゃんは日本人です☆
Jeremie and Eri are an international couple who have involved in Jesus Lifehouse Church. Jeremie is from France and Eri is Japanese.

ふたりとも内側も外側も美しくて、神様のことが大好き！とってもアツいクリスチャンです。
They are both good looking and have beautiful inside, and passionate about God so much!!

二人の結婚式が行われたのは表参道にあるレストラン。おしゃれで、ふたりの雰囲気にぴったりな場所でした☆
The wedding was held at a restruant in Omotesando which was so beautiful and matched their atmosphere.

手作りでアットホームな結婚式会場は、神様と兄弟姉妹の愛で満ち溢れていました！
The venue was hand-maded and very "homey", filled with God's and sisters and brothers' love!!

二人はとっても正直で、素直で、明るくて、どんなときでも神様を信じて一番においています。チャーチでもみんなの見本となるような素晴らしいリーダーです！
Jeremie and Eri are honest, pure and positive! Whatever it happens, they always put God first and believe in God. They are wonderful leaders in church as well!!

二人が心からこの日を楽しんでいる顔を見ているだけで、安心と感動で目がうるうるしてきました。
I was so impressed when I saw their face...I could see that they were enjoying the memorial day from their heart!!

結婚の誓いをして、二人は夫婦となりました！They got totally married!!

美男美女カップル☆これから世界に影響を与えていくふたりです！
What a beautiful couple!! They'll influence the world as a couple!!

とくに私が心を打たれたのが、ジェレミーからえりちゃんへのサプライズお手紙と、えりちゃんからご両親へのお手紙です。
What the moment that touched my heart at most was when Jeremie read a surprise letter for Eri and whe Eri read a letter to her parents.

ジェレミー、えりちゃん、本当におめでとう！！！二人は最高に輝いているよ☆☆☆
Congratuations!!! Jeremie and Eri!!!! You are shining☆☆☆

BEAUTIFUL WEDDING

今日は私のチャーチのお友達のもとずぃ→こと、ゆたかくんとやすえちゃんの結婚式がありました！
Today's Yutaka and Yasue's wedding celemony!!!

ふたりともとてもピュアでかわいらしくて、お互いをとても愛し合っています！そしてすばらしいクリスチャンで、何よりも誰よりも神様のことが大好き！
They are so pure and both love each other from bottom of their heart! Also they are both wonderful Christians and love God more than anything!!

Awesome Day。

今日は素晴らしい１日だったよーーーー！！！わたしの行ってるチャーチ、Jesus Life Houseのメンバー、AndyとNaokoさんが結婚され、晴れて夫婦となりました☆

☆☆☆ご結婚、おめでとうございます☆☆☆

東京聖書教会で式と披露宴が行われ、参列してきました！人生の中で結婚式の参加は今回で３回目（２次会のみの参加を数えたならば４回目）なのですが、クリスチャンの結婚式は初めて。きっと想像がつかないくらいの素晴らしい式になるのだろう、そう思っていました。
